Hello !

kanji

Kudaka

We would like to introduce ourselves.
We are a club to cultivate and propagate Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karatedo and Koshiki Karatedo in Germany. We are officially affiliated with the World Koshiki Karatedo Federation (WKKF).

What is Shorinjiryu Kenkokan Karatedo ?

SKK is a karate style that was founded by Kaiso Kori Hisataka (10th DAN) after World War II.
It consists of bodily elements like forms (kata), basic techniques (kihon), and the interaction with a partner (kumite) as well as mental and philosophical elements of the Japanese fighting arts (do).
An integral part of the training are "empty hand techniques” (kara-ho) and an extensive program of traditional Japanese weapons (buki-ho). Shihan Olaf Lotze-Leoni teaches SKK in Germany since 1995. Classes of this unique karate style of the Hisataka family take place in the "Shindo” school of martial arts and the TSV 03 Sievershausen.
Shihan Olaf Lotze-Leoni (6th DAN) is the only instructor teaching this particular style in Germany. He was taught this style by Hanshi Masayuki Kukan Hisataka (9th DAN), the son of the founder of the style, and keeps in touch with his teacher on regular visits in Japan.

What is Koshiki karatedo ?

Koshiki karatedo is karatedo used in competition which is based on controlled body contact.

In competition protective equipment (anzen bogu) containing face guard (men), body guard (do), and groin protector (kin ate) are used to avoid injuries of the fighters. Techniques to the body can be performed with full power on the body guard whereas techniques aiming for the head have to be well controlled on the contact area of the face guard.

By using the protective equipment the karateka is allowed to effectively use their techniques without harming themselves or their partners.

Hanshi Masayuki Kukan Hisataka (9th Dan) developed Koshiki karatedo to give martial artists of different fighting styles the opportunity of fair competitions, gather them on a common ground and keep the true application of karatedo techniques.
